Pack light, surf hard. Here is everything you need for your trip.
The Ultimate Morocco Surf Trip Packing List (2026 Update)
So, you booked your flight to Agadir! Excitement is high, but now comes the tricky part: fitting everything into your suitcase. Morocco is a unique destination—it’s hot during the day, chilly at night, and culturally conservative in the towns.
To save you from overpacking (or forgetting the essentials), we have compiled the ultimate packing list for your stay at Berber Surf Camp.
1. Surf Gear: What Do You Need?
The most common question we get is: “Do I need to bring my own wetsuit?”
However, if you prefer to bring your own gear, here is what we recommend for the Moroccan Atlantic:
- Wetsuit: A 3/2mm is perfect all year round. In winter (Jan-Feb), a 4/3mm can be nice for early mornings.
- Booties: Not needed! The water temperature rarely drops below 16°C.
- Reef Booties: Only if you plan to surf Anchor Point (advanced). Our beginner spots are 100% sand.
2. Clothing: Think “Layers”
Morocco has a desert climate. This means the sun is hot during the day (25°C+), but temperatures drop quickly after sunset. The key is layering.
- Warm Hoodie: Essential for rooftop dinners and chilly mornings.
- Swimwear: Bring at least 2 pairs so you always have a dry one.
- Flip Flops & Sneakers: Flops for the beach, sneakers for walking in the village or hiking Paradise Valley.
- Respectful Clothing: When walking in the village, it is polite to cover your shoulders and knees. Save the bikinis for the beach!
Evenings can be cool on the rooftop—bring a hoodie!
3. The Essentials You Might Forget
These are the small things that can make a big difference to your trip comfort.
- Zinc Sunscreen: The African sun is strong, even in winter. Protect your face!
- Travel Adapter: Morocco uses Type C and E plugs (the standard European 2-pin style).
- Reusable Water Bottle: Help us reduce plastic. We have filtered water stations at the camp.
- Small Medical Kit: We have first aid at the camp, but bring your own painkillers and stomach settlers just in case.
4. Money & Tech
- Cash (Dirhams): You can withdraw money at the airport or in Tamraght village. Cash is king for small shops.
- eSIM / Data: Wi-Fi at the camp is fast, but buying a local SIM card (Maroc Telecom) at the airport is cheap and useful for maps.
